Telecommunication and Wireless Laws in India

Wireless connectivity has become a big cause of concern for the Indian Government. The Government is not only conscious but also worried about the way wireless communications operate. India needs good Crisis Management Strategies to deal with emergency situations like terrorist attacks and their use of wireless connections. Mr. Praveen Dalal of Perry4Law has contacted the Prime Minister’s Office, President of India, Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), Ministry of Information Technology (MIT), etc in this regard. Fortunately, his suggestions regarding bringing suitable amendments in the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act, 2000) and securing Wireless Networks have been accepted by the Indian Government and they are planning to amend the IT Act, 2000 and introducing rules, regulations and provisions to ensure a safe and secure wireless connectivity and its use.

To give a boost to cyber law in India, cyber security in India, cyber forensics in India, etc, we have started a “National Consensus Building Exercise”. It produced great results and this encouraged us to constitute the First and Exclusive Working Group on Cyber Law in India. We have recently launched the Dispute Resolution Segment of the Working Group. More about it would be provided in future at WGCL  and LNAV
